Charcoal

The charcoal is the "stick of heather, willow or other light wood", like olive or birch, charred, used to apply the strokes of the drawing. It can also refer to the work created with it. Although it is typically used to make the sketch, it can also be presented as a finished work, usually with other materials such as sanguine or graphite, and is especially valued for portraits.
